The Indie Virus has caught the Z-List

So are you a member of the A-list of bloggers? You know those bloggers
that get all the traffic and all the comments. If not are you someone that would categorize themselves as the z-list? No traffic, no comments, no link love. You feel you write well and deserve to be heard but your like a tree in the woods. Well Chris over at Peasonified has started a viral marketing campaign of potentially epic proportions.

The gist of it is this start blogging about the z-listers. Those of us with no link love. But here is the twist link to the z’s as I call them with the term “The Indie Virus”. What will this do you ask? Well its a little experiment in marketing how much google love can be found when you goto search that term. Currently, I show 55 links what if the campaign could make 550 links or 5500 links. Then you may start to change the perception of what makes the A-Lister a A-Lister. Because I can tell you the top-100 may have all the traffic but the Z-Lister has all the creativity. The reason is the Z-Lister has nothing to lose. Anyways, it a fun little experiment I am going to be giving it a try with the next few day’s worth of posts. Instructions on how you can participate are at Chris’s site.

Random Shapes Interview of Matt Jones

The Blog Herald just posted a Interview with the founder of RandomShapes. The new blog network is blogged by teens.  It has some very interesting information  including.

David: Let’s talk briefly about the “Myspace Generation” with roughly who knows how many myspacers how do you guys fit in? Is this Myspace Indie?
Matt:It isn’t really a Myspace Indie because we don’t think that Myspace is all bad, just mostly bad. I hope the network will spark interest in teens and make them want to change the way they act and blog on the web. Teens can suprise you especially if they are motivated to be better.

Now thats a nice change teens being motivated.  Web 2.0 at it finest.  No one should ever discount the creative ability of people just because of their age.  That is the beauty of the Internet.  It has leveled the playing field for race, religion, nationality.  Anyone anywhere has a true equal say in the world around us.

Performancing Metrics is here!

What is performancing metrics you ask? Well its a great new tool from the guys over at performancing.com

Did you ever want to track all your visits, adsense clicks and outbound links? This tool will do it. I have now installed it on several of my blogs. Installation was smooth. Just take the code snippet and post it in your websites code. It will take a couple of hours to start aggregating data. I plan on offering more in depth review in the near future. In the meantime checkout the problogger.net for a preview review of the Metrics.

Happy Blogging!
