Over at V7N there is a question about google emailing custom adsense sizing to you.

Specifically,

“Custom placement packs are selections of individually-reviewed sites designed for our largest brand advertisers. We would like to feature your site more frequently in these advertiser packages, but to do so, we need you to place more image and text-enabled medium rectangle ad units (300×250) on your site. Visit https://www.google.com/adsense/adformats to see a sample of the medium rectangle unit. The medium rectangle is the most demanded size among our brand advertisers that utilize these packages for both text and image ads. These advertisers want to ensure they reach visitors on high quality sites like yours, and are willing to bid more for ads prominently displayed on these sites. They require that the units be placed “above the fold” on a page so that the ads are immediately visible to your site’s visitors without scrolling down”.

I haven’t seen anything on this . Anyone else?

The Yahoo Publishing Network which is the equivalent of the Google Adsense program has started its own their blog. The goal of which is too..

We know that for the Yahoo! Publisher Network to be successful, publishers need to be successful, too. So we started the Yahoo! Publisher Network blog to:

Give publishers – you folks – a voice in the evolution of the Yahoo! Publisher Network and its products.

Build a place where you can come and learn about the latest updates and enhancements to the Network

Showcase your work and your contributions to making Yahoo! Publisher Network what is today – and to what it will become tomorrow

Provide a community space where you can learn from other publishers how to be a better one yourself

In a way its a me too type of situation. Google has a Blog the covers alot of the same topics. Just in this case its how to optimize for Yahoo.

I say good for Yahoo. These new ad networks are going a long way toward helping bloggers monetize their sites. Any new resources that can contribute to the success of blogging is fine by me. Optimization, Monetization and Trafficaztion are the name of the game!

Blogherald posts a review from Andrew Johnsons Web Publishing Blog. Andrew talks about the benefits of the Azoogle network of ads. They also discuss the need to diversify your monetization streams.

After being with the program a month I’m still a long way off from earning those five figures. However, the ads have been sitting side by side my Google ads without any negative affect on either clickthrough rank or earnings. In fact, Adsense revenue has increased during this time.
Azoogle has the best support I’ve encountered online to date. You will get a personal account rep who will call & e-mail you to give you a hand in placing the best possible offers on your website. Where as with other affiliate networks where you blindy feel your way to the best performing offers, they will lead you straight to them. The first offers I put up did nothing; upon implementing the suggestions of my rep the money immediately started flowing.

Sounds like Azoogle may be worth checking out.
