The new startup Oko, according to the idea of its authors, is intended to radically change what is now called photo shooting with the help of a smartphone. Modern gadgets are almost perfect, there is no dispute, which can not be said about their operators. The list of small and large claims to the mountain-photographers is large enough, but Oko, ostensibly, will help to solve them all in one fell swoop.
Technically, this is a flexible silicone attachment to the smartphone, which is equipped with two eyepieces. They are directed to the screen of the device, but do not abut it and have their own lenses, providing a 6-fold increase. The space between the eyepieces and the body of the smartphone is left blank – it conveniently fits your fingers to control the touch screen.
The process of photo and video shooting with Oko is no different from the usual version, but the operator sees before himself a different picture, cleaned from anomalies and parasitic effects. Horizontal orientation during photography becomes mandatory, since it is in this position that our eyes see what is happening better. Increases the stabilization of the gadget, it becomes possible to focus on the details in the frame, rather than shake hands. Plus, the image on the photo will ideally match the one that the person saw at the time of shooting.
With Oko smartphone owners willy-nilly will have to make a choice in favor of horizontal shooting, so most of the videos and photos will become more informative, intuitive. Of course, this does not solve the issue of portrait photography, especially for Selfie, so the new accessory is aimed at fans of shooting landscapes, attractions and events. The price is $ 39 for a copy.
