Scientists warn: digital amnesia worsens human memory

Digital amnesia

Recently, scientists note with alarm: people prefer not to load their memory with information that is in the memory of their mobile device. It includes, in particular, telephone numbers of business partners, close friends and even family members.

This problem was called “digital amnesia” – a sad result of “unloading” of our brain. Studies show that up to 90% of Americans are forced to recognize their dependence on the Internet, mobile phones and tablets as sources of storage of necessary information.

Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab in North America, Chris Doggett frankly admits:

“Electronic devices on one side enrich our lives, but at the same time they cause digital amnesia with long-term consequences. We must carefully store in our memory valuable information and invaluable memories. “

And here are a few more alarming figures. 44% of the survey participants conducted by Kaspersky Lab confirmed that almost all the information they need is in their smartphones, and as a result, for most of the respondents, the loss of the smartphone creates big problems.
